Bonjour! My name is Jean-Daniel, I am a pastor, a twin dad, and, very occasionally, a blogger.
I live in Montréal, Québec, Canada with my (nearly) perfect daughters. I am the Protestant Christian Chaplain at McGill University and associate pastor at Christ Church (Anglican) Cathedral. In my “free time,” I am working on a PhD in practical theology through the Université de Lausanne. (But on this blog, the opinions I express are just mine.)
I grew up in Massachusetts, but always proudly aware of my French Canadian and Irish family roots, spent many summers in New Brunswick, and lived in California for three years. I have taught ballroom dance, have done manual labour in 17th-century clothing for tourists, and have faithfully made sure Olive Garden customers have all the breadsticks they desire. I dropped out of high school twice, got my bachelor’s at Harvard, and my master’s at Yale. (I have a very complicated love/hate relationship with school.)
My greatest passion, intellectually and academically and professionally, is the conviction that God loves the youngest among us and that I am called to make the world and the church better for children, youth, and young adults.
Que Dieu vous bénisse!
